We pledge to create a Queer Liberation March with the following vision:
A celebration of the hard fought victories of the last half century
A commitment to the ongoing fight for LGBTQIATS+ rights worldwide
A march that highlights the most marginalized members of our community
A protest that recognizes the powerful legacy of the Stonewall Rebellion
A march that anyone can join, including from the sidewalks - everyone will have an equal place
This activist march, free of corporations, politicians, and police presence, takes place on June 30th, 2019 (NYC Pride Day) will start at Sheridan Square in the West Village, move up 6th or 7th Avenues, and end with a community rally on the Great Lawn in Central Park.
We are asking community members to support the March by coming to our meetings, joining a sub committee, and committing to do some work to make this grassroots effort happen. We are also accepting donations.
Most people complain about the Pride Parade and don't go. Here is our chance to RECLAIM IT!
