RALLY FOR INTEGRATION // RSVP ➡️ bit.ly/6-6-rally
For more than a year, we have been urging the DOE to adopt our proposal to integrate NYC high schools.
On May 17, the 65th anniversary of Brown v. Board, we convened top policymakers at City Hall for an accountability meeting on the issue. They repeated the same talking points they've been using for months. Mayor de Blasio did not come. He was in Iowa launching his presidential campaign that day.
Our city and school officials DO NOT FEEL THE URGENCY OF THIS ISSUE. But we sit in segregated classrooms every day, and we are done waiting.
We have no choice but to move to direct action. Let's pack the steps of the DOE headquarters on Thursday morning and demand bold action to integrate our schools!
Students of all ages and adult allies, join us!!
