Join us at the NYC City Council Public Hearing on the proposed Williams fracked gas pipeline in NY lower harbor.
Williams Energy, the multi-billion dollar oil and gas behemoth, wants to construct the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) Pipeline to ship fracked gas from Pennsylvania to be burned in NYC. The pipeline would run underneath the sea bed, south of Staten and Coney Islands, and Rockaway Peninsula.
As awareness of the pipeline grows, so does opposition: rate-payers should not have to pay for an unnecessary $1 billion dollar pipeline that locks us into decades more fossil fuel use. Instead, we must rapidly ramp up our development towards 100% renewable energy and the green jobs that come with it.
Join us on April 16 to make clear to the City Council that our City supports renewable energy development, not the Williams pipeline which will fuel climate catastrophe.
