Seven members of Rise and Resist are scheduled to go to trial Monday, November 4, at 9:30AM at 100 Centre St, 4th Floor, Part E. Miles Ashton will be representing us with assistance from Jonathan Wallace.

This is for the February 15 arrest where the NYPD refused to allow RAR to march on the sidewalk in front of the Trump Hotel and arrested us while we were chanting "ARREST TRUMP NOT US". We will be arguing that we had a First Amendment right to walk on the sidewalk and continue our protest, and that the NYPD should not have arrested us.

We will be having a non-jury trial (i.e. heard by a Judge) for Disorderly Conduct. The courtroom is open to the public.

The defendants would love for you to come and support us if you have the time - but you should know that there is also a possibility that the trial will be put off to another date (for various reasons that we have no control over). That is what happened at our last court date.
