Join us Monday, June 3rd from 4 to 6:00pm as we rally in Roseland for an emergency halt to construction of a dangerous polluter! Our last rally brought awareness to many residents in Essex and Morris counties! With the support of local officials and concerned residents, we will rally again for clean air and climate justice! We are calling on Governor Murphy to stop the Roseland compressor expansion by declaring an emergency moratorium on fossil fuel expansion projects!
Williams Transco is beginning construction on the Gateway Expansion Project despite the fact that NJDEP and FERC have yet to rule on our pending permit appeals. There is free public parking in the Essex Golf Center located directly across the street from our rally site. We will have some signs to distribute, but we encourage you to make and bring your own sign about the gas compressor and the other fossil fuel projects in the state!
Whether you can or cannot come to the rally, you can take action to stop this project NOW:
1. Send an email to Commissioner McCabe at email@example.com. Tell the commissioner to “Stop construction of the Gateway Expansion Project and expansion of the Roseland compressor. DEP permits have been appealed and are “under review” by your Office of Legal Affairs!”
2. Call Governor Murphy at 866-586-4069 and say, “Governor Murphy must order his DEP to stop construction of the Gateway Expansion Project in Roseland right now.”
3. Join us to protect the expansion in front of the compressor station at 563 Eagle Rock Avenue with signs for the many cars passing by to see. Be there for as long as you can, but please be there!
Please share this event with friends to grow the fight to protect our health, safety and climate!
