The targeting of migrants by ICE raids and the police continues. Families are separated, children are caged, and refugees are dying in concentration camps that refuse them basic health care and nutrition. Confronted with this crisis, waves of inspiring and motivated protesters are flooding the streets. We must continue to protest the policies of the racist U.S. government, because it won't stop until we put a stop to it.
On August 24th, a coalition of grass-root organizations will gather in front of Representative Peter King's office in Massapequa to denounce the inhumane and criminal treatment given to immigrants and refugees at the boarder and the ICE raids that continue right here on Long Island. We must take a stand against the racist lies and slander against people seeking safety from U.S sponsored violence, and we must denounce the perpetrators and enablers in the U.S. government.
Most migrants come to the United States because of a long history of U.S. intervention and wars abroad. The United States has intervened in Latin America over 68 times and counting with coups, funding violent right wing militias, and economic policies like NAFTA that strangle economic development in Latin America.
We invite you to join us in this coalition effort to oppose white supremacist policy, racist politicians, and deplorable camps and to put an end to the dehumanizing domination. Whether it's military plunder of resources abroad or ICE raids right here on Long Island, the end of their power begins with us. If your organization would like to join this organizing effort please reach out to the ANSWER Coalition page, or you can text/call us at 516-564-3685
