Update: A judge has denied Patricia’s motion to have a trial by jury. Instead she will receive a bench trial. Her new trial date in December 17 at 9:00 am. The location is the same.
Now more than ever Patricia needs us to show up to support her and demand #ReturnTheChildren.
Join PANIC members at Manhattan District Court when we turn out in solidarity with Patricia Okoumou, Lady Liberty climber and #ReturnTheChildren activist.
On July 4, Patricia Okoumou scaled the Statue of Liberty in protest of the Trump administration’s draconian “zero tolerance” immigration policy resulting in the sadistic kidnapping and imprisonment of immigrant children by the US federal government. She now faces jail time and will be tried by a judge on December 17, having had her request for a trial by jury denied and her original date of November 5 postponed.
Patricia Okoumou is a true modern-day folk hero who risked her life to call for justice. Now it is our turn to show up for her.
PANIC members and friends from Long Island are encouraged to carpool or take the LIRR together. Use this page to make arrangements with each other.
