The Amazon is on fire, and we know who’s to blame. It’s Cargill.

A new report by Mighty Earth found that Cargill’s activities are centrally linked to the incineration of the Amazon.

On October 7, the Wall Street Journal is interviewing Cargill’s Senior Vice President Ruth Kimmelshue at the Intercontinental New York Barclay. We’re showing up because we need to tell the Wall Street Journal the full story.

Agribusiness giant Cargill is sourcing its animal feed from South America. Not only have they failed to take action to combat deforestation, this year they actually sent a letter to their suppliers specifically to **encourage** them to continue clearing forests.

Five years ago, Cargill pledged to cut ties to deforestation by 2020. This year the company openly admitted they will not be following through on that commitment.

We do not have another 5 years. We don’t have another one year. Cargill must act now.
